Last year in 2019, we witnessed a hype for foldable smartphones and In 2020 it will be a year for foldable PCs. At CES 2020, Lenovo announced the world’s first foldable laptop – Lenovo ThinkPad X1.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold houses a 13.3-inch OLED display when fully unfolded, with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The laptop can use in several configurations, including a normal laptop mode where you can prop-up the X1 Fold and type just like you would on a regular laptop.

Since Windows 10 X (Windows for foldable PC) is not out yet, Lenovo is using Windows 10 Pro to power its foldable laptop and to utilize the foldable screen. In this way, It’s possible to put two different windows on each half of the display. Allowing you for several use cases such as the choice to compare two documents, one on each screen, or have a skype call on a single screen when you are making changes to a presentation or taking notes on another. Otherwise, you could type on the lower screen with a dedicated wireless hardware keyboard, placing it on the other half of the screen.
The keyboard that comes with this foldable laptop as accessories can be placed on either half of the display, holding it magnetically and will charge wirelessly. It can be kept safely inside the fold of the laptop.
Price and Availability
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold goes on sale from mid-2020 with a starting price of $2,499. The price seems to be a little on higher side, but considering that it is the world’s first foldable laptop, the expense is studying to be fair enough.
